About the Artist & Artwork
Beginning in the 1960s, Peter Max has been rendering vibrant cosmic landscapes that share striking visual parallels with the themes expressed by The Beatles: mind expansion, intergalactic journeys, fantastic timeless landscapes, colorful portraits of curious characters, and above all, love for our fellow man.
The subjects of Max’s work frequently reflect his own social and spiritual interests alongside his aesthetic and formal concerns. Over the decades, he has also become a passionate champion of various humanitarian and environmental causes, ranging from environmentalism and the campaign for Tibet to the restoration of the Statue of Liberty.
