Peter Max

Beginning in the 1960s Peter Max has been rendering vibrant cosmic landscapes which have striking visual parallels to the themes that were being expressed by The Beatles; mind expansion, intergalactic journeys, fantastic timeless landscapes, colorful portraits of curious characters, and above all love for fellow man.

Certainly the subject of Max’s work often reflects his own social and spiritual interests alongside his aesthetic and formal concerns. Throughout the past two decades he became a champion of many causes ranging from environmentalism and the campaign for Tibet, to the restoration of the Statue of Liberty

Peter Max has been the official artist for many high profile events including:
murals for the U.S. Pavilion at the Seville World’s Fair
images greet that visitors at the US borders of both Mexico and Canada,
design of the Official United Nations Stamp for the first Environmental Summit held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992
Official Artist for World Cup USA 94
Official Artist for the Super Bowl and Grammy Awards in 1995,
Official Artist for the 25th Anniversary of the New Orleans Jazz Festival
