Description
A master of detail, Nobou ‘Nicky’ Watanabe applies meticulous definition to every face, tree and snowflake in his paintings. Watanabe was born in Japan and did not move to the United States until after he graduated college. His style incorporates the influence of his boyhood in Japan as well as “naif” styles and motifs.
Much of the charm of the art of Watanabe comes from the innocent exuberance of these detailed scenes. Due to the superior quality of the serigraphy these prints are filled with beautiful colors and happy themes. The more we examine the details of these fine prints, the more we find ourselves smiling at life’s simple pleasures.
These wonderful prints capture a timeless idealized child-like insight into the world of long summer days and havest festivals of a timeless era
