Description
Jack Coutu is influenced by Oriental art and inspired by English stories and legends, and by the observation of the flora and fauna in his garden, in fields, hedgerows and ponds. A trained sculptor and engraver, he often includes small gears and mechanalia in his intricate prints. His technical skill is not limited to etching, he created a large collection of hand carved Japanese Netsuke, he also taught engraving and print-making at the Central School of Art, London.
